NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

September 1, 2021

Dear Members:

I am pleased to announce that the Faculty Club has hired a new Executive Director who will be responsible for managing the reopening and renewal of the Club this fall.

Alex Maggiacomo has over 25 years experience as a professional club and hospitality manager in the GTA. His work experience has included serving as the Chief Operating Officer/General Manager at Bayview Golf & Country Club in Thornhill, Whitevale Golf Club in Whitevale, and The Club at Bond Head. Before that he served as General Manager of Castlemore Golf & Country Club. He recently founded a full-service boutique recruitment service company servicing Clubs and their staffing needs. He studied political science at Carleton University and the University of Toronto, and business management at Ryerson University.

Alex is excited about joining us, especially in our revitalization plans that envision building a new administrative team. He assumes his position on September 1 and will be working with Club staff to assess the situation and to begin planning the Club’s reopening soon.

Sincerely,

A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

July 6, 2021

Dear Members:

I hope this communication finds you well and enjoying your summer!  As we all navigate the latest in living with COVID, the ability to get outdoors in warm weather and sunshine is certainly invigorating.

As we enter July and The Club’s 61st year, I want to take this opportunity to both connect with you in wishing you well and to give you a general update as we progress toward The Club’s reopening in the fall of 2021.

The Club’s volunteer Board of Directors is currently engaged in a variety of recovery and revitalization efforts to sustain The Club until we can re-open.  While most of our staff remain on temporary or indefinite lay-off status while The Club’s food and beverage services are suspended, notably, we are in the process of appointing new leadership in anticipation of our reopening.

Additionally, I’m happy to also announce that our social media is being refreshed.  Please join our new Facebook and Instagram accounts and don’t forget to deselect the old page as we will not be maintaining the old accounts.

Lastly, we took advantage of this quiet summer to address some facility safety issues and exterior maintenance for the future health of The Club and our members.

For those of you who may want to get an early jump start to booking Club events, we are now holding dates with single events after November 01, 2021.  As we get nearer to a reasonable reopening date and bring staff back, as well as knowledge about the latest COVID safety guidelines, we will then reach out to those with a date hold to plan event specifics.

Thank you again for your continuing interest in The Club. On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, we wish you and your families a pleasant, relaxing, and healthy summer. We look forward to connecting again soon with updates, and in the fall, welcoming you back onsite!

Sincerely,

Leslie Shade
President
